# Buy more credits

Credit packs add credits to your account for a one-time card payment. They never expire and are spent after your monthly allowance. See the four packs, where to buy one and what you see.

## The four packs

## How packs behave

- Bought credits go into a wallet on your account and do not expire. The window says "A one-time charge. Bought credits don't expire and are used after your monthly credits."
- They are spent only after the month's plan allowance is used. A charge that the monthly allowance cannot cover fully is split: the allowance first, the wallet for the rest. If the wallet cannot cover the rest, the action is refused and nothing changes.
- A pack is a single card charge. It does not renew and does not change your plan.
- If a failed generation is refunded, the credits go back to your wallet first, up to what the wallet paid that month, and any remainder restores your monthly allowance.
- If a pack charge is refunded in Stripe, the refunded share of credits is taken back out of your wallet. The wallet cannot go below zero.

## Where to buy a pack

- On the Lock-in chat page at [/studio/chat](https://www.uova.com/studio/chat), the top right shows your balance and **Buy credits**. On a phone, **Buy credits** is at the foot of the chat drawer.
- In the Studio sidebar on chat pages, the credits meter has a **Buy credits** link. It opens the same window through `/studio/chat?credits=buy`.
- In account settings, **Billing & credits** has a **Credits** section with the four packs as a list and a **Buy** button.

> **Studio tool pages:** On the Create, Upscale and Edit pages the credits chip in the top bar opens the Studio billing page with the plans, not the pack window. To buy a pack, use one of the places above.

## Buy a pack

1. **Sign in** Packs are bought on a signed-in account. Signed out, the window says "Sign in to buy credits."
2. **Open the Add credits window** Use **Buy credits** in one of the places above. The window lists the four packs, each with its credits and price.
3. **Choose a pack** The 15,000-credit pack is selected when the window opens. Use the arrow keys or select a row to change it.
4. **Select the Buy for button** The button shows the price of the selected pack, for example **Buy for $27**, and reads "Opening checkout..." while it works. UOVA then opens Stripe Checkout, where you pay by card. From account settings the button reads **Buy 15,000 credits · $27**.
5. **Return to UOVA** After you pay, Stripe returns you to the Lock-in chat. The credits arrive as soon as the payment clears. If you cancel, you return to the chat and nothing is charged.

## If the window shows an error

| Checkout failed | Stripe Checkout could not be created. Nothing was charged. Try again. |
| Checkout couldn't open. Try again in a moment. | The request did not return a checkout address. Try again. |
| Checkout couldn't open. Check your connection and try again. | The request could not reach UOVA. |
| Too many requests. Please slow down. (in the window) or Too many tries. Wait a minute and try again. (in account settings) | Buying is limited to 5 attempts a minute. |

## Pack or plan

A pack suits an occasional heavy month: its credits wait in your wallet until your allowance is gone. A plan gives a new allowance every month, and is also what unlocks custom domains and removing the UOVA badge. A pack does neither. Per 1,000 credits, Basic on annual billing works out to $0.667 ($144 for 12 months of 18,000 credits), against $1.49 to $2.00 in a pack.

## Limits

- Card payments only.
- No promo or discount codes.

## Common questions

**Do pack credits expire at the end of the month?**

No. Only plan credits reset each month. Bought credits stay in your wallet.

**Which credits does a generation use first?**

The month's plan allowance first, then your wallet.

**Where do I see how many bought credits I have?**

In account settings, **Billing & credits**, the **Credits** section shows a bar with the monthly credits left and, once you have any, **Bought · never expire** with the number.
