# Z-Image Turbo

Make images from a text prompt with Z-Image Turbo by Alibaba, from 6 credits per image. See its settings, limits and exact prices.

Z-Image Turbo is Alibaba's fast image model, tagged Fast and Open Source. It works from a text prompt only. It is priced by aspect ratio: 6 credits at 16:9 and 9:16, 8 at 4:3 and 3:4, and 11 at 1:1.

## What it costs

The aspect ratio sets the price, because this model is billed by output size.

## Use it in Studio

1. **Open Create Image** In Studio, open **Create Image**. Sign in when the Studio asks, because every generation needs an account.
2. **Choose Z-Image Turbo** Open the model picker, which groups models by maker, and choose Z-Image Turbo.
3. **Write your prompt** Describe the image. Z-Image Turbo works from text only, so there is no reference image to attach.
4. **Set the output** Choose an aspect ratio and **Count** from 1 to 4.
5. **Check the price and generate** The Studio shows the credit price for your settings. It is the same price the server charges. Results appear as cards and are saved to your **Library**.

## Limits

- You need to be signed in to generate. Z-Image Turbo is available on every plan, including Free; credits are the limit.
- No reference image. If you attach one, the Studio says "Z-Image Turbo can't use a reference image — remove it or pick another model".
- If a generation fails, the credits are refunded. The Studio does not run a different model in its place.

## Common questions

**Why does the ratio change the price?**

This model is billed by output size, and the ratio sets the size. 16:9 and 9:16 cost 6 credits, 4:3 and 3:4 cost 8, and 1:1 costs 11.

**Which ratio does the Studio start on?**

Images start on 4:3, so the default quote is 8 credits. Change the ratio and the quote updates.

**Can I use my own image with Z-Image Turbo?**

No. Z-Image Turbo works from a text prompt only. The models that accept a reference image are listed on [Image models](https://www.uova.com/help/models/image).
