Refunds, taxes and invoices
What can be refunded on plans, credits, domains and website projects, how to ask, how tax is handled, and where to find invoices and receipts.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
This page summarises UOVA's refund rules. The full text is in the Refund policy and the Terms of service. The Refund policy says that if it seems to differ from the Terms, UOVA applies whichever is better for you.
#What can be refunded
| What you bought | Refund rule |
|---|---|
| Monthly plan | No refunds for partial months. You can cancel at any time and the plan will not renew. |
| Annual plan | A full refund within 14 days of the initial purchase. After that, annual subscriptions are non-refundable. |
| Annual Studio plan with the free first-year domain (up to $20) claimed | The refund is the plan price minus the domain's standard registration price (never more than $20). The domain stays registered in your name. |
| Credits and credit packs | Credits have no cash value and are non-refundable. |
| Domain registration, renewal or transfer | Non-refundable once complete. A failed registration, renewal or transfer is refunded in full, automatically. |
| Website project | 100% before work starts. 50% after work starts but before delivery. None after delivery, except under the 5-business-day guarantee. See Done-for-you website projects. |
If UOVA materially changes or ends a paid plan, it gives at least 30 days' notice and refunds the unused part where applicable.
#How to ask for a refund
Step 1: Email billing@uova.com
Send it from the address on your account.
Step 2: Include your order or invoice number
You find it on your invoice or receipt.
Step 3: Wait for the reply
UOVA answers by email. An approved refund is sent back to the card you paid with.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show them. For other questions, see Help and support.
#Money back and credits back are different
A refund of money applies to a plan, a domain or a project, under the table above. A failed generation is different: its credits go back to your balance automatically, with no request needed. See How credits work. Credits you bought in a pack are not refunded as money, and the credits of a pack whose card charge was refunded in Stripe are taken back out of your wallet.
#Cancelling is not a refund
Cancelling stops all future renewals and takes effect at the end of the period you paid for, so you keep your paid features until then. It does not return money for the current period. For an annual plan, the 14-day full refund window runs from the initial purchase, not from the day you cancel.
#Taxes
Prices are in US dollars. The Terms state that subscription, credit and domain fees are exclusive of tax, which UOVA may collect and remit where it is required to. The amount you pay is shown on the Stripe checkout page and on your invoice.
#Price and plan changes
- Price changes come with at least 30 days' notice and take effect on your next billing cycle.
- A payment that fails may be retried, and paid features may be suspended after a grace period.
#Invoices and receipts
Stripe emails you an invoice or receipt for each payment. You can also see your invoices on the Billing page in your account settings, which lists them read-only, and in the Stripe customer portal behind Manage billing.
