Build a gym or personal trainer website
Generate a gym or fitness club site on Odessey, or a one-person personal trainer site on Keel, and learn which kind of prompt reaches which.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
Two templates cover fitness, and they are for different businesses. Odessey is for a gym or fitness club. Keel is for one self-employed personal trainer. Your prompt decides which one the generator picks, so describe the business as it is.
#Which templates fit
| Template | What the generator uses it for |
|---|---|
| Odessey | Gyms and fitness clubs. |
| Keel | One self-employed personal trainer, who is the business. |
| Capitol | The general-purpose template and the fallback if a build fails or nothing matches well. |
Keel is built around one trainer working with clients one to one. A yoga or fitness studio prompt is matched to Odessey. A small personal training studio with a few coaches is currently matched to Keel too, so check that its wording fits you. You can also open the Templates gallery, filter by Sports or Health, and press Use Template.
#What a generation includes
- One multi-page site on the template the generator matches to your prompt. The pages follow that template's own page plan, plus the template's legal pages. The exact set depends on the template.
- Copy written by the model from your description. The brand name and contact details come only from your prompt and the + Add tray. Anything that was not supplied is removed or shown in the editor as an "Add your …" instruction, and those lines are hidden on the public site. Read every line before you publish.
- Legal pages as drafts for you to fill in. An unfilled one is left off the live site, with its links, until you edit it. Capitol has none.
- Images: when you are signed in the build may add fresh images, and your own photos (up to 20) and logo are carried in.
- One language per site, detected from your prompt: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German or Italian. Writing "in Portuguese" settles it.
#What to put in the prompt
A prompt can be up to 6,000 characters. Plain sentences work. This is a sample you can adapt:
Iron Row is a strength gym in Austin with 24-hour access. Memberships from $49 a month, strength and conditioning classes, and an on-site coach team. Open every day. Phone 512 555 0177.- For a gym, say "gym" or "fitness club" and name the city. Mention classes and memberships if you offer them.
- For Keel, say you are a personal trainer who trains clients one to one, in person or online, and that you work for yourself.
- Give prices only if you want them shown, and check each one in the draft.
- Attach photos of the space or of you coaching.
See Write a prompt that works for the full list of what the generator reads.
#Editor features to use
- Edit text: keep membership prices and class names current.
- Images, video and the media library: use your own photos and video.
- Animations: add entrance and scroll animations to hero sections.
- Responsive preview: check the Mobile size, because visitors often open a site on a phone.
#Publish and connect
- Select Publish and choose the address. A
uova.ioaddress is included on every plan, and it cannot be changed after the first publish. See Publish your site. - Add your own domain on a paid plan, either one you own or one you buy through UOVA. See Connect a domain you own and Buy a domain.
- Messages from your site's forms arrive in your Inbox and are emailed to you. The default is up to 20 message emails per site per day, then one summary. The visitor gets no automatic confirmation email. See Inbox and form messages.
- Set a title and description for each page in SEO settings.
- To take sign-ups or bookings in a tool you already use, add a button and set its Link field to that tool's page. See Buttons and links.
- To let clients pick a time on your own Cal.com, Calendly or Square Appointments calendar, open Project settings > Booking in the editor, choose the provider, paste your booking link and select Add Book section. The calendar shows on the home page of the live site, and other pages show a booking button. The calendar appears on the published site, not on the editor canvas. Bookings land in your own provider account, not in UOVA. Booking requests that come through your site's forms are listed under Scheduling in the dashboard. A Square link shows a calendar only when it is a buyer widget address, and otherwise shows the button. See Booking calendars.
#What UOVA does not do here
- A class timetable or membership widget cannot be embedded. Only Cal.com, Calendly and Square Appointments links are accepted, and a Square link shows a calendar only when it is a buyer widget address. Memberships, class booking and taking payment on the site are not covered by this guide.
- You cannot choose which template the generator uses. To pick a design yourself, start from a template instead. See Start from a template.
- You cannot import an existing site. Rebuild it from a prompt and paste in your own wording. You can give the generator one link to an existing site or Google listing, which it reads for facts only, not for style.
- Scripts and iframes are not allowed in your own HTML, so third-party widgets cannot be embedded. The one supported embed is the Book section, which works with Cal.com, Calendly and Square Appointments only. For any other tool, link a button to its web address.
- You reply to form messages from your own email program with Reply by email. There is no in-app reply and no Inbox export.
- UOVA does not host email at your domain or forward it. See Email and forwarding.
#Common questions
Describe it in your own words and the generator scores it. Today a prompt about a small personal training studio with a few coaches is matched to Keel, which is written for one trainer, so read its copy and imagery and replace what does not fit your business. A gym, fitness club or yoga studio goes to Odessey, and a prompt that fits neither gets Capitol.
You cannot change the template of a generated site. You can generate again with a different prompt, or start from a template with Use Template.
