Start from a template
Press Use Template to open your own editable copy of a design, then replace its showcase content with your own before you publish.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
#Before you start
Using a template needs an account. Signed out, Use Template opens the sign-up window. Nothing in the page resumes the action afterwards, so press Use Template again once you are signed in.
#Use a template
Step 1: Open the template page
Find a design in Browse and preview templates and open its page.
Step 2: Press Use Template
UOVA copies the template's own showcase content into a new project, plays a short preparation screen and opens the copy in the editor. This is not an AI generation.
Step 3: Replace the showcase content
Edit the text, images, colours and pages. The showcase brand name appears throughout, so replace it everywhere.
Step 4: Publish
Publish is refused while the visible copy still names the template's showcase brand. The message reads "Your <page> page still mentions <brand>. Replace the template name before publishing."
#What it costs
Making the copy does not charge credits, and the copy step has no plan check. It is a plain copy of the template's pages, not a generation. Each press of Use Template makes a new project, so pressing it twice gives you two copies.
#Where the button appears
| Place | Button |
|---|---|
| Template page | Use Template |
| Template page, after you scroll | Use Template in the bar that slides up |
| Full-screen preview | Use & Edit |
| Template picker in your dashboard | Use this template |
#Create your own
For templates the editor cannot open, the button reads Create your own. It sends you to the homepage with a "Generating in <name> style" chip in the prompt box. The result is a normal generation, so signed in it takes 250 credits. See Generate a site from a prompt.
The chip adds the template's style notes to your prompt. It does not copy the template or pick it for the generation. The sticky bar calls this button Generate in this style, and the full-screen preview and dashboard call it Generate yours in this style.
#Use Template or generate
| Use Template | Generate | |
|---|---|---|
| Design | The one you picked | Matched by UOVA from your description, and you cannot choose it |
| Content | The template's showcase content, which you replace | Written from your prompt, with "Add your ..." prompts for missing facts |
| Credits | Making the copy does not charge credits | 250 credits at entry, when signed in |
| Sign-in | Required | Optional for a guest build, if guest builds are on |
#What stays fixed
On a template site the navigation, the footer, the footer's legal line and configuration blocks are pinned. You can edit their text and style but not delete or move them. Deleting another template section hides it, and you can show it again. See Sections.
#Common questions
No. You edit a copy in your own project.
The most common reason on a template site is the showcase brand name still appearing in visible text. The message names the page.
No credit charge is made for the copy. A generation from the homepage, including Create your own, is charged when you are signed in.
