Edit text
Double-click any text to type over it, then set its font, size, weight, spacing, colour and alignment from the floating toolbar or the Design tab.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
Every heading, paragraph and button label on your site is text you can change in place. Fonts come from the Google Fonts list. Uploading your own font files is not supported.
#Change the words
Step 1: Select the text
Click it on the canvas. The 2 pixel indigo outline appears and the toolbar floats above it.
Step 2: Double-click to type
The text becomes editable where it sits. Type over it.
Step 3: Leave edit mode
Press Esc or click elsewhere. The new words are sent to the editor when you leave the text, and autosave picks them up.
You can also select the element and use the Content tab. It starts with an Element group showing the element's Name and its type, then Text Content, a box that updates the text as you type and records an undo step when you leave it. For a form the tab also shows Form Fields. Name is the label shown in the Layers panel.
#The floating toolbar
With a heading, paragraph or button selected, the toolbar above it offers the most used controls. It is hidden while you type in the element.
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| Font family | Inter, Manrope, Playfair Display, Cormorant Garamond, Space Grotesk, DM Sans, Geist, Geist Mono, Satoshi, Mona Sans |
| Size | A minus button, the size and a plus button |
| Weight | 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 |
| B, I, U | Bold (700, or back to 400), italic and underline, each a toggle |

#Typography controls in the Design tab
Select a heading, paragraph or button and open the Design tab. The Typography group has:
| Control | What it sets | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Font | The font family | A searchable picker over the Google Fonts list |
| Size | Text size | A value such as 16px |
| Weight | Boldness | Default, Light (300), Regular (400), Medium (500), Semi (600), Bold (700), Extra (800) |
| Line H | Line height | A value such as 1.5 |
| Spacing | Letter spacing | A value such as 0 |
| Align | Text alignment | Buttons labelled Left, Center, Right and Just |
| Transform | Capitalisation | None, UPPER, lower, Title |
| Color | Text colour | A colour swatch, a picker and a text field |
Each Design-tab write goes to the size you are previewing. To make a heading smaller on phones only, switch to Mobile in the top bar first, then change Size. A small round T or M beside a control means that value is overridden at the current size. Click it to remove the override. See Responsive preview.
#New text elements
A heading you add from Add elements arrives reading "Your heading here" at 48px and weight 600. A paragraph reads "Add your text content here. Click to edit." at 16px. A button reads "Get Started". Replace all of them before you publish.
#Fonts
- The font picker searches the Google Fonts list ("Search fonts..."). If the list cannot be fetched, a short list of popular families is shown instead.
- Font files cannot be uploaded. There is no way to add a font outside that list.
- To change fonts across the whole site at once, use the Fonts tab in Site styles where your template supports it.
#Change text with the AI chat
The AI chat can update or replace text, and selecting an element first scopes the request to it. One chat turn is a single undo step. See Edit with AI chat.
#Limits
- Text that a template pins, such as the footer's legal line, can be edited but the element cannot be deleted or moved.
- The Design tab edits one element at a time. Site-wide type settings live in Site styles.
