Write a prompt that works
Say what the business is, where it is and what it offers. The generator matches a template from your words and uses only the facts you give.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
A prompt does two jobs. It tells the generator what to write, and it is what the matcher reads to pick a template. A short description that names the kind of business works better than a long one that never does.
#What the generator does with your words
- An AI model writes the content and suggests a template. A separate scoring step then picks the template from the industry, tone, theme and features it detects in your prompt. The model's suggestion is only a last resort.
- Brand name and contact details come only from your prompt, including a website address written in it. Facts that you do not supply are removed or turned into "Add your ..." prompts that show in the editor and are hidden on the live site.
- The language of the site is detected from your prompt.
#Put these in the prompt
| Include | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| The kind of business | The matcher reads the industry. "Barbershop", "bakery" or "landscaping" steers it better than "a business". |
| The business name | It is kept exactly as you write it. See the next section for how it is read. |
| Where you work | Name the city or area. Left out, the editor can show an "Add your city" or "Add your address" prompt. |
| Services or products | Each one becomes content. Give a price only if you want one shown, and write it next to the item it belongs to. |
| Phone, email, address and opening hours | Used exactly as written and never guessed. |
| Facts that build trust | Accreditations, licence numbers, years in business, guarantees and awards are used only if you state them. If you give no review count or rating, the site may not claim one. |
| Tone or look | Words such as dark, classic, warm or minimal feed the theme and tone. |
| The language | Write the prompt in that language, or say "in Portuguese". |
#How the business name is read
UOVA takes the name from the words you wrote, and none of it is restyled. These shapes are recognised:
- "called Sharp & Co" or "named Sharp & Co", or the name in quotation marks.
- "for Sharp & Co, a barbershop in Leeds".
- "Sharp & Co is a barbershop" at the start of a sentence.
- "I run Sharp & Co" or "We are Sharp & Co".
In most of these shapes a name is one to six capitalised words. A phrase made only of ordinary trade words, such as "Emergency Plumbing Services", is not taken as a name.
#Sample prompts
These are plain-language prompts a small-business owner might write.
A barbershop in Leeds called Sharp & Co. Skin fades, beard trims and hot towel shaves. Walk-ins welcome, open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 to 6. A dark, classic look.Site para Pão de Ouro, uma padaria de bairro no Porto. Pão de fermentação natural, pastelaria e bolos por encomenda. Tom caloroso e simpático.A landscaping company in Bristol called Greenway Gardens. Garden design, lawn care and patios for homeowners. Phone 0117 000 0000. Fresh and natural.I am a personal trainer in Austin called Rhodes Strength. One-to-one sessions and small group classes, mornings and evenings. Motivating, no-nonsense tone.#Languages
A site is generated in one language, detected from the prompt. The supported languages are English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian. "In Portuguese" in the prompt takes priority over the language the rest of the prompt is written in.
Without such a request, the detector counts common words and spellings that belong to one language. If no language clearly wins, the site is generated in English.
#What a prompt cannot do
- It cannot choose a template by name. UOVA picks one. To choose, start from a template.
- It cannot import or migrate an existing site, or copy the style of a screenshot or a URL.
- It cannot produce a site in several languages at once.
- Prompts that the content check blocks return "We couldn't build this request as written…" before any credits are taken.
#Common questions
The template is matched from your description, and you cannot choose it. Edit the result in the editor, or start from a template you like.
Write the prompt in that language or add "in French", for example. The six supported languages are English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
You can write one website address in the prompt. It is read once for facts such as services and contact details, and never for design.
