Forms and contact blocks
Add a form from Add Elements, choose its fields, and set where submissions are emailed. Messages also land in your dashboard inbox.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
#Add a form
Step 1: Select where it goes
Select a section or container, or leave nothing selected to use the page's last section.
Step 2: Insert Form
Open Add Elements and click Form in Quick Add. See Add elements.
Step 3: Choose its fields
With the form selected, open the Content tab and use Form Fields.
Step 4: Set the recipient
Open the settings cog, choose All project settings, then the Forms tab.
A new form arrives with three fields: Name (text, required), Email (email, required) and Message (textarea, optional). Its submit button reads Submit unless the template gives it another label.
#Form fields
Each field row has a drag handle, a label box, a type menu, a Req checkbox for required and a × button to delete it. Drag a row by its handle to reorder fields. Text, Email, Textarea and Select fields also have a placeholder box, and Select has an Options (comma-separated) box.
| Add button | New field |
|---|---|
| + Text | A field labelled Text |
| A field labelled Email | |
| + Textarea | A field labelled Textarea |
| + Select | A field labelled Select with the options Option 1, Option 2 and Option 3 and the placeholder "Select an option" |
| + Checkbox | A checkbox labelled "I agree to the terms" |
New fields are optional. Rename the label to say what you are asking. Ask for text consent adds a "Text me updates" choice for visitors after you publish. The note beneath it says no texts are sent until messaging is set up.
#Where submissions go
In All project settings, choose Forms. It says to choose where contact-form submissions are emailed, and to leave a field blank to use your account email.
- Default recipient
- One address for every form, labelled "all forms". Blank uses your account email.
- Per-form routing
- Optional addresses under "Route specific forms (optional)" for Contact, Inquiry, Booking, Reservation, Newsletter and Guide / Lead magnet. Blank uses the default recipient.
- Save
- Press Save recipients. It shows Saved, or
Couldn't save — please try again. - Before you publish
- You can set recipients now. They take effect for submissions on your live site.
- Dashboard
- Every message lands in your dashboard inbox. See Inbox and form messages.
- Owner emails
- Each submission is emailed to the recipient. See Limits for the daily cap.
- Booking calendar
- A Cal.com, Calendly or Square calendar is not a form. It comes from the Book section, and bookings made there stay with the provider. See Booking calendars.
#What visitors can send
- A form needs at least one of name, email or message filled in.
- A submission over 32 KB is refused with "Message too large", and a form can carry at most 40 extra fields.
- One address can send 5 submissions a minute. More are refused.
- A hidden trap field catches simple bots. Their submission looks successful to them, and nothing is stored or emailed. Suspect messages can also arrive in the Spam tab of your inbox, and spam is never emailed to you.
- There is no CAPTCHA.
#Limits
- Owner emails are limited to 20 per site per UTC day by default. After that, one summary is sent. Every message still lands in your dashboard messages.
- You can reply to a message by email only. There is no in-app reply.
- Forms are not included in a site export.
- The field types are Text, Email, Textarea, Select and Checkbox. A file upload field is not offered.
