Domains
Put your own web address on a published site. Buy a domain through UOVA or connect one you already own, on a paid plan and a published site.
For the complete documentation index, see llms.txt. This page is also available as Markdown.
Every published site already has a <slug>.uova.io address. A custom domain adds your own name, such as yourbusiness.com, to the same site. You manage all domains in the dashboard under Domains.
#Before you start
- Connecting, buying or transferring a domain needs a paid plan. A Free account is refused with a message that says to upgrade to unlock custom domains.
- The site must already be published. Buying says "Publish your site first, then attach a domain to it." Connecting says "Project must be published first".
- A domain belongs to one site, and there is no action to move it to another site.

#Where to manage domains
The dashboard Domains page has three buttons: Transfer in, Connect a domain you own and Buy a domain. The table lists each domain with its site, a status, a renewal date with an auto-renew switch, and who it is registered with. A strip above the table names a domain that needs attention, with a Fix link.
Each row has a menu. Details opens a drawer with the DNS records and a timeline. Verify now appears while the domain is not yet Connected. Make primary appears once it is Connected. For domains UOVA registered you also get Renew…, Turn auto-renew on or off, and Transfer out…. Remove is always last.
You can reach the same actions from Site settings > Domain (it lists your site's addresses and has Connect a domain), from Project settings > Domains & Hosting in the editor (Manage domains), and from the publish wizard (Add custom domain). A second domain manager at uova.com/domains (Manage Domains) has its own screens and its own status words, such as Registering and Active. This guide describes the dashboard.
#Which address visitors see
A new domain is not primary. Make primary works only for a domain that is verified and active, and a site has one primary at a time. When a primary exists, visits to your uova.io address and to any other connected domain of the same site are redirected to the same page on it with a 308 redirect. With no primary domain, every address serves the site. The uova.io address cannot be removed.
#Status labels
Each domain row shows one of: Payment pending, Transfer pending, Connecting, Purchase failed, Transfer failed, Expired, Expires <date>, DNS error, Needs DNS or Connected. They are explained in DNS records and SSL.
